The Maxitec Scorpion FC/Array is the fault tolerant Fibre Channel (FC) RAID  subsystem of choice for high data availability. The high performance Scorpion FC/Array is  perfect for workstation applications, including multimedia and video-on-demand servers,  internet/intranet, document imaging and medical imaging systems. 

Maxitec Scorpion  FC/Array is among the first to feature end-to-end FC performance from controller to disk  drives. Controllers, PBMs, fans, power supplies and drive bays are redundant, hot  pluggable, and hot replaceable. In addition to enabling host independent high performance,  the Array provides both fault tolerance and maximum uptime.

Maxitec  Scorpion FC/Array exploits the capabilities inherent in FC-AL: low latency: high  bandwidth: up to 200 MB/sec, broad connectivity: 30 meters copper/10,000 meters Fibre  Optic, and scalability: 125 nodes per loop. 

Scorpion FC/Array Management 

The Array can be configured centrally over the fibre channel link, remotely using the  RS-232 port or locally through the integrated LCD panel on the controller itself. To aid  during configuration or trouble shooting, a comprehensive set of diagnostic tools is  included. These are accessible both from the front LCD panel and remotely.
